(i) The chemical substances which give sweetening effect to food but do not add any caloric to our body are called artificial sweetening agents. For examples, saccharin, is used by diabetic patients.
(ii) Enzymes : The proteins which perform the role of biological catalysts in the body are known as enzymes. eq- Maltase enzyme converts maltose to glucose.
