Why bromides and iodides do not respond to chromyl chloride test ?

Verified by Experts

Because chromyl bromide `(CrO_(2)Br_(2))` and chromyl iodide, `(CrO_(2)l_(2))` compounds are unstable and are not formed. In such case bromien and iodine are evolved.
