$ Sb(III) is not precipitated as sulphid...

$ Sb(III) is not precipitated as sulphide when in its alkaline solution `H_(2)S` is passed.
! The concentration of `S^(2+)` ions in alkaline medium is inadequate for precipitation.

A

Both A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A

B

Both A and R are true but R is not a correct explanation of A

C

A is true but R is false

D

A is false but R is true.

Text Solution

Also, `SbS_(3)` has a lower solubility proves if `Sb^(3+)` is precipitated in acidic medium where the `S^(2-)` ion concentration is very low then in basic medium it will definitely be precipitated because `S^(2-)` ion concentration in basic medium is very high.
