Let surface tension S is written as follws :
`S propto E^(x)V^(y)T^(z)`
`implies [S] propto [E]^(x)[V]^(y)[T]^(z)`
` implies [ML^(0)T^(-2)]=[ML^(2)T^(-2)]^(x)[LT^(-1)]^(y)[T]^(z)`
`implies [ML^(0)T^(-2)]= [M^(x)L^(2x+y)T^(-2x-y+z)]`
On comparing dimensions on both the sides we get the following eauations :
x= 1
`2x+y= 0 implies y= -2x implies y= -2`
`-2x-y+z = -2 implies -2+2+z= -2 implies z= -2`
Hence, the dimensions formula for surface tension is :
`[S]= [EV^(-2)T^(-2)]`.
