A brass boiler has a base area of `0.15m^2` and thickness 1 cm. It boils water at the rate of 6 kg per minute when placed on a gas stove. Estimate the temperature of the part of the flame in contact with the boiler. Thermal conductivity of brass is `=109Js^(-1)m^(-1)K^(-1)`, Heat of vapourisation of water is `2256xx10^3Jkg^(-1)`

`A = 0 15 m^2`
dx = 1 cm = 0.01 m
`K = 109 Js^(-1) m^(-1) k^(-1)`
m = 6 kg, t = 60 s
As `Delta Q = KA ((Delta T))/(Delta x) t`
Heat absorbed by water
` Q = (109 xx 0.15 xx (T_1 - 100) )/(0.01) xx 60` ..(i)
Mass of water boiled per min = 6 kg = 6000 g
Heat used to boil water Q. = mL
`Q. = 6000 xx 2256 J`
As Q = Q.
` (109 xx 0.15 (T_1 - 100) xx 60)/(0.01) = 6000 xx 2256 `
`T_1 - 100 = (6000 xx 22)`
