Water is heated from below but not from top. Why?

When water is heated from the bottom, its density decreases and it rises. Cooled liquid from the upper part moves downwards and hence , the water gets heated up due to convection currents . But when heated from the top , a very small amount of heat is corried to the bottom as the water is a poor conductor of heat . so , water is always heated from the bottom .
