Let `theta` be the angle by which the electron gets deviated in the electric field and a be the acceleration of electron :
`a=(eE)/m`
and v=Velocity of electron
`v_x`=Horizontal component of velocity =v
`v_y`=Vertical component of velocity =at .
where t is the time taken to cross the electric field
Also , `t=b/v`
`tan theta =v_y/v_x=(at)/v`
Substituting the values of a and t, we get :
`rArr tan theta =(eEb)/(mv^2)`
Thus , `theta =tan^(-1)((eE b)/(mv^2))`
