A point charge +q is placed at the centre of curvature of a hemisphere. Find flux through the hemispherical surface.

If we assume rest of the hemisphere is also there then charge will be the centre of the completed sphere. According to Gauss.s law total flux associated with the completed sphere is , `phi=Q/epsilon_0`. Using the symmetry argument, we can easily understand that flux through hemisphere would be half of this value. Therefore , flux through hemisphere =`Q/(2epsilon_0)`
