We can see that electric field lines are shown to be diverging in the direction from negative to positive charge, hence magnitude of electric field intensity is decreasing in this direction. We can understand that electric field intensity at the location of negative charge is more in magnitude than electric field intensity at the location of positive charge. The force acting on negative charge will be towards left and its magnitude will be more, hence the net force on the dipole will be towards left.
