Two non-conducting spheres of radii R(1...

Two non-conducting spheres of radii `R_(1)` and `R_(2)` and carrying uniform volume charge densities `+rho` and `- rho` respectively are placed such that they partially overlapping region.

A

Electric field intensity is zero

B

The magnitude and direction of electric field intensity are uniform

C

The magnitude of electric field intensity is uniform but the direction is changing from point to point

D

None

The correct Answer is:
B

`vecE=(rhovecr_1)/(3epsilon_0)-(rhovecr_2)/(3epsilon_0) =rho/(3epsilon_0) (vecr_1-vecr_2)=(rho vecr_0)/(3epsilon_0)`
Here `vecr_0` is a constant vector which joins the centres of both the spheres . Hence , the electric field intensity inside the overlapping region is uniform.
