The correct Answer is:
2

Direction of horizontal component of earth.s magnetic field is towards the north direction. Direction of magnetic field due to a bar magnet on its axis is parallel to its magnetic dipole moment. Magnetic moment of bar magnet is from south to north and here South Pole of magnet is facing towards north direction and hence magnetic dipole moment of magnet is opposite to north direction. Hence direction of magnetic field of bar magnet is opposite to the earth.s horizontal component of field at points on its axis. Hence at appropriate distance from the centre of magnet on its axis on both the sides we shall get null point. Distance of the null point from the centre of bar magnet is such that magnetic field intensity at this point is equal to horizontal component of earth.s magnetic field.
