As per Lenz.s law induced emf opposes the basic cause that has induced it. If you want to maintain the cause of change in magnetic flux then you will have to invest energy against this opposition, caused by induced emf. Energy invested in opposition appears as electric energy. Electromagnetic induction is the phenomenon by which we can convert mechanical energy into electrical energy.
