Use Lenz's law to determine the direction of the induced current when a rectangular conducting loop abcd is moved into a region of magnetic field which is directed normal to the plane of the loop away from the reader.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

As the loop abcd is moving in a region of magnetic field, therefore, magnetic flux linked with the loop increases. This increase of flux will be opposed by induced current in accordance with Lenz. law. Thus the direction of induced current will be along bcdab.
