For a given medium, the polarising angle is `60^@`. What will be the critical angle for the medium?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`theta = 60^@`
`mu = 1/(sin C)` where C is critical angle
`mu = tan theta_P` where `theta_(P)` is polarising angle.
`sin C = 1/(tan theta_P) = 1/(tan 60^@) = 1/(sqrt(3))`
`C = sin^(-1) (1/(sqrt3)) = 35.26^@`
