Yong's double-slit experiment is carried out by using green, red and blue light, one color at a time. The fringe widths recorded are `beta_(G),beta_(R)` and `beta_(B)`, respectively. Then

A

`beta_G gt beta_B gt beta_R`

B

`beta_B gt beta_G gt beta_R`

C

`beta_R gt beta_B gt beta_G`

D

`beta_R gt beta_G gt beta_B`

The correct Answer is:
D

Fringe width is given by the following formula:
`beta = (lambda D)/d`
Hence fringe width is proportional to the wavelength because all other factros are same for all lights.
`lambda_R > lambda_G > lambda_B`
Same will be the order for fringe width also.
