When Rita opened the perfume bottle in the bed room without the permission of her mother, how did her mother came to know while watching TV in the drawing room?

Gas particles move with high speeds and the intermolecular spaces in gases are very large. These properties of gases allow a gas to diffuse easily into another. As a result, the smell of perfume which is in vapour state reaces quickly to the other corner of the room.
