With the help of an example explain how do transquilizers control the feeling of depression ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Noradrenaline is a tranquilizer which induces the feeling of well being and helps in changing the mood. If the level of noradrenaline is low due to certain reasons, then the singal sending activity of the hormone becomes low and the preson suffers from depression . When antidepressant drugs which inhibit the enzymes are administered, catalyse the degradation of noradrenaline. If the enzyme is inhibited , the metabolism of important neurotransmitter is slowed down and this can activate the receptor for longer periods fo time and therefore , countaract the affect of depression .
