Solve equation is `x^(2) - 11x +30 = 0` by using formula.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given equation is `x^(2) - 11 x + 30 = 0`.
The roots of `ax^(2) + bx + c = 0`, are `(-b+-sqrt(b^(2) - 4ac))/(2a)`
Here, a=1, b = - 11, and c = 30.
That is,
`x = (-(-11) +-sqrt((-11)^(2) -4(1)(30)))/(2xx1) = (11+-sqrt(121-120))/(2)`
`x = (11+-1)/(2)` ,
`x = (11+1)/(2)` and `(11-1)/(2) rArr 6` and 5.
`:.` The roots are 5 and 6.
