Myocardium of heart is formed of cardiac muscle fibres which are characterized by: small, cylindrical and strified, uninucleated, with flat intercalated discs with many calcium-channels, interconnected by oblique bridges and undergo rapid and rhythmic contraction but are non-fatigue.
