The drug coefficient C(v) of an automobi...

The drug coefficient `C_(v)` of an automobile is determined from the experssion `C_(D)=(D)/((1)/(2)pv^(2)S)`
Where D is the drag force experimentally determined in a wind tunnel, p is the air density, v is the speed of the air in the wind tunnel, and S is the cross-sectional area of the car presented to the air flow. Determine the dimension of `C_(D)` in lenght.

The correct Answer is:
[0000]

`[C_(D)]=([D])/([rho][V^(2)][S])=([M^(1)L^(1)T^(-2)])/([M^(1)L^(-3)][L^(2)T^(-2)][L^(2)])=[M^(0)L^(0)T^(0)]`
`therefore"dimension in L is zero"" "]`

In a test experiment on a model aeroplane in a wind tunnel, the flow speeds on the upper and lower surfaces of the wing are 70ms^(-1) and 83ms^(-1) respectively. What is the lift on the wing, if its area is 2.5m^(2) ? Take the density of air to be 1.3kgm^(-3)

A power output from a certain experimental car design to be shaped like a cube is proportional to the mass m of the car. The force of air friction on the car is proportional to Av^(2) , where v is the speed of the car and A is the cross-sectional area. On a level surface the car has a maximum speed v_("max") . Assume that all versions of this design have the same density. The v_("max") is propotional to m^(1//c) . Find C
