Distinguish homogametes and heterogametes.

In some algae the two gametes produced during sexual reproduction are so similar in appearance and they cannot be differentiated. Such gametes are homogametes. In majority of sexually reproducing organisms, the gametes produced are of two morphologically distinct types. Such gametes are heterogametes.
