You are supplied with three different flowers - Paddy, Vallisneria, Sunflower.
(a) State the mode of pollination in each flower.
(b) Write down any one of the floral characters to suit the pollination.

(a) Paddy -Anemophily (by wind)
Vallisneria -Hydrophily (by water )
Sunflower - Anemophyily
(b ) In paddy anthers and stigma are of exposed type . Stigma is feathery . Pollen grains are small dry and produced in high quantities .
In vallisneria male flowers occur in clusters and get detached when mature and reach toi the surface of water .The female flower arises singly on long stalk and reaches to the surface of water . Surrounding the female flower a depression is present in water . It helps the male flower to fall near the female flower resulting in the stamen touching on the stigmatic surface .
In sunflower special hair like persistent pappus calyx is present and stigma is exerted .
