During an adiabatic process, the the pressure of a mixture of monatomic and diatomic gases is found to be proportional to the cube of the temperature . Find the value of `gamma=(C_P//C_V)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In adiabatic process , `T^(gamma)P^(1-gamma)="conatant"`
`PT^(-3)="constant" ` .....(1)
`gamma/(PT^(1-gamma))="constant"` ....(2)
`gamma/(PT^(1-gamma))=PT^(-3)`
Comparing the powres, `gamma/(1-gamma)=-3=-3+3gamma`
`2gamma=3,gamma=3/2`
