In mature earthworms,` 14-17^(h)` segments are swollen with a glandular thickening of the skin called the clitellum. Permathecal openings are three pairs of small ventrolateral apertures lying intersegmentally between the grooves of the segment 6/7, 7/8 and 8/9.
