RT-PCR is called Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction.
RT-PCR is done for amplification of RNA.
In this method RNA molecules (mRNA) are converted to complementary DNA molecules by the enzyme reverse transcriptase.
The cDNA then serves as a template for PCR.
