kala-azar or visceral leishmaniasis is cused by Leishmania doovani ,which is transmitted by the vector phlebotomus (sand fly).Infection may occur in the endothelial cells ,bone marrow,livr ,lymph glands and blood vessel of the spleen.Symptoms of Kala azar are wight loss ,anaemia ,fever ,enlargement of spleen and silver.
