The two types of nerve fibres, based on the presence or absence of myelin sheath are,
(a) Myelinated nerve fibre: The axon is covered with myelin sheat.
(b) Non-myelinated nerve fibre: The axon is not covered by myelin sheath.
Myelinated and non-myelinated nerve fibres form the white matter and grey matter of the brain.
