a. The transfer of pollen grains from anther to stigma of a flower is called pollination. Self-Pollination and Cross-Pollination are the two types of Pollination.
b. Advantages:
(i) It results in fertilization, which leads to the formation of fruits and seeds.
(ii) New varieties of plants are formed, through new combination of genes.
Disadvantages:
(i) More wastage of pollen grains.
(ii) Pollination may fail due to distance barrier.
(iii) Flowers depend on external agencies for pollination.
