During the Luteal phase of the menstrual cycle in the uterus, the hormone progesterone is produced by the ovaries, Progesterone and estrogen is secreted by the Corpus Luteum, which develops from the Graafian follicle. So this phase of the menstrual cycle is called the secretory phase.
