(a) Here diode `D_(1)` is forward biased and diode `D_(2)` is reverse biased

The given ciruit reducess to
the total current `I= (V)/(r ) = (6)/( 3) =2A`
As 1 `Sigma ` and `2 Sigma` resistor are in series
Therefore current througth `1 Sigma` resistor `=2 A`
