In the depletion region of a diode....

In the depletion region of a diode.

A

there are no mobile charges

B

equal number of holes and electrons exist making the region neutal

C

recombination of holes and electrons has taken place

D

immobile charged ions exist

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The p type region has holes as majority carriers and n type regkon has electrons as majority carriers filling a hole results in a negative ion and leaves behind a positive ion on the n side theis result in formation which prevents any further electron transfer as the space charge builds up so there are no mobile charges in the deplietion region so at any instant equal number of holes and electrons exist making it neutral
