Discuss the consequences of high enthalpy of `H-H` bond in terms of chemical reactivity of dihydrogen.

The bond dissociation enthalpy of H-H bond is very high (435.9 KJ `"mol"^(-1)`) . Due to high bond enthalpy, it is not very reactive at room temperature . However, at high temperatures, or in the presence of catalysts, hydrogen combines with many metals and non-metals to form hydribes.
