What are the IUPAC names of the insecticide DDT and benzene hexachloride? Why is their use banned in India and other countries?

D.D.T. : 2,2-bis (p-chlorophenyl)-1,1,1-trichloroethane BHC:1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6-hexachlorocyclohexane. These have been banned because of their long term toxic effects which could be highly dangerous.
These are non-biodegradable. These insecticides enter the food chains of animals and get deposited in their fatty tissues over a period of time. Therefore, these affect their reproductive system.
