Describe hypanthodium type of inflorescence.

Hypanthodium. In this case fleshy receptacle forms a hollow cavity which is more or less pear shaped with a narrow apical opening guarded by scales. Canal is lined by downwardly poined hairs. Internally the receptacle bears male flowers towards the pore and female flowers towards the base e.g. Peepal, Banyan etc.
