Discuss briefly the role of nucleolus in the cells actively involved in protein synthesis.

Nucleolus is the site of biosynthesis and storage of r-RNA. During cell division, r-RNA is released which combine with cytoplasmic proteins to form ribosomes which synthesize proteins so nucleolus is called ribosome factory. Nucleoli are large-sized and more in number in those cells which are actively involved in protein synthesis.
