Various stages of melotic Prophase-I are:
Leptone chromtin fibres codense by dehydration and spirallization to form chromosomes.
Zygotene .It is characterised by synapsis (pairing of homologous chromosomes ) and formationof Synaptonemal complex dyads (each chromosome formed of 2 sister chromatids) and tetrads.
(iii) Pachytene. It is characterised by formation of recombination nodules and crossing over between non-sister chromatids.
(iv) Diplotene. It is characterised by dissolution of synaptonemal complex and beginning of terminalisation (separation of homologous chromosome).
(v) Diakinesis. It is characterised by completion of terminalisation, disappearance of nuclear membrane and nucleoli and completion of mitotic apparatus.
