Reverse transcription. The process of synthesizing DNA from RNA in order to give provirus in the presence of an enzyme reverse transcriptase is called reverse transcription. It was worked out by Peyton Rous sarcoma virus. Later on Temin along with Baltimore discovered the enzyme reverse transcriptase in RNA viruses. This helped in working out the basis how viral genome could get integrated with host genome.
