Removal of gonalds cannot be considered as contraceptive option. Why ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Contraceptives are practised only before or during the period of sexual act and are only temporary requirements. These do not reduce the fertilizability of the individuals. But the removal of gonads (called orchidectomy when testes are removed, and ovariectomy when ovaries are removed) causes permanent loss of fertilization power and the reversibility is very poor. So removal of gonads cannot be considered as contraceptive options.
