Inflammatory responses can be controlled by glucocorticoids e.g. cortisol. Cortisol is secreted by zona fasciculata of adrenal cortex. Cortisol increases sugar level of blood by promoting gluconeogenesis. It also suppresses immune response but stimulates RBC formation.
