What happens to the frequency, wavelength and speed of a light beam travelling from rarer medium to denser medium ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The frequency of the light remains constant. The wavelength of the light reduces to `(lambda)/(mu)`, where `mu` is the refractive index of the medium. The speed of the light beam also reduces to `(c)/(mu)`.
