Is there a spectrum observed when white light is passed through a thick rectangular glass slab ?

No, when light passes through the glass slab, all the components emerge out following the same path in the direction of the incident light. Thus, no dispersion of the light occurs and we see white light emerging out. However, the emerged light is laterally displaced.
