The magnifying power of a compound microscope is

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

It is equal to product of magnifying powers of objective and eyepiece.
`M = M_(0) xx M_(e)`
Approximate magnification can be written as follows : `M=(L)/(f_(o))xx(D)/(f_(e))`, here L is the length of microscope tube, D is least distance of distinct vision, `f_(o) and f_(e)` are focal length of objective lens and eye lens.
