Draw a schematic ray diagram of reflecting telescope showing how rays coming from a distant object are received at the eye - piece . Write its two important advantage over a refracting telescope.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

(i) The image are real and interted in case of a refracting telescope but in case of a reflecting telescope, images are erect.
(ii) In case of reflecting telescopes, images are free from chlomatic aberration and distoritons, it is difficult to make such lenses which can form images free from chromatic aberrations.
