How will you distinguish thermoplastic polymers and thermosetting polymers?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Thermoplastics when heated become soft. These can be moulded into any desired shape. The thermoplastics can be processed again and again. For example polythene, polystyrene etc.,
On the other hand, thermosetting plastics on heating become hard and insoluble masses. These cannot be moulded into desired shape and cannot be reprocessed. For example bakelite, melamine-formaldehyde resin etc.,
