What is the effect of `pCO_(2)` on oxygen transport?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Low `P_(co_(2))` favours the combination of oxygen with haemoglobin while high `P_(co_(2))` favours the dissociation of oxyheamoglobin to releas oxygen. So low `P_(co_(3))` favours the transport of oxygen while high `P_(co_(2))` decreases the transport of oxygen by blood.
