Hypoxia is chaeacterized by deficiency of oxygen in the body tissues. It may be due to mountain sickness (due to shortage of oxygen in the air at high altitudes) or co-poisoning (due to form carboxyhaemoglobin) or cynide poisining (due to inctivation of cytochrome oxidase evzyme of ETC by cynides).
