Explanation

a. Due to overpopulaiton and deforestation, industrial and domestic coal buring release high amount of carbondioxide into the environment . The amount of carbon monoxide emitted by the automobiles , other gases like chlorofluorocarbon (CFCs) , methane `(CH_(4))` nitrous oxide `(N_(2)O)` etc increase radition are again reflected back to earth.
b. A reaction chamber typically containing a finely divided platinumiridium catalyst into which exhaust gases from an automotive engine are passed together with excess air so that carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon pollutants are oxidized to carbon dioxde and waster .
