The average speed of the bob of a second...

The average speed of the bob of a seconds pendulum is `2 m s^(-1)` . Determine the (a) linear amplitude (b) angular amplitude and the (c) frequency of oscillation .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The time period of a seconds pendulum = 2 s .
Length of a seconds pendulum = 1m .
Average speed = `("total distance")/("total time")`

`therefore = (d)/(2) = 2`
d = 4 m .
Amplitude = `(d)/(4) = (4)/(4) = 1`m
In the figure , `2 = 1xx 2`
Angular amplitude `theta = 1^(@)`
Frequency = `(1)/(T) = (1)/(2) = 0.5` Hz.
