Explain the following rights of a consumer.
(i) Right to safety.
(ii) Right to consumer education.

Explanation

(a) The right to safety - to be protected against products, production processes and services that are hazardous to health or life. The right to be heard - to have consumer interests represented in the making and execution of government policy, and in the development of products and services.



Right to consumer education -
Means the right to acquire the knowledge and skill to be an informed consumer throughout life. Ignorance of consumers, particularly of rural consumers, is mainly responsible for their exploitation. They should know their rights and must exercise them.
