Distances travelled by Hamid and Akhtar ...

Distances travelled by Hamid and Akhtar in an hour are 9 km and 12 km. Find the ratio of speed of Hamid to the speed of Akhtar.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given,
Distance travelled by Hamid in an hour `= 9 km`
and distance travelled by Akhtar in an hour `= 12 km`
Again we know Speed = Distance / Time Taken
So, Speed of Hamid `= (9km)/(hr)`
And, speed of Akhtar` = (12km)/(hr)`
Therefore, the ratio of the speed of Hamid to the speed of Akhtar
= Speed of Hamid: Speed of Akhtar `= 9:12`
Thus, the ratio of the speed of Hamid to the speed of Akhtar` = 3:4`
